The first NRL game for the season saw the Rabbitohs bounce past the Roosters in a huge victory.
The reigning premiers had momentum on their side in the early goings with an impressive converted try in the tenth minute. However, it would be the first and only try of the game for the Chookies.
South Sydney fullback Greg Inglis proved why he is a big name of the game today, scoring three huge tries which were all successfully converted by Adam Reynolds. Top that with a converted Bryson Goodwin try and two penalty goals and the final score on the board is 28-8.
Inglis’ dominant performance was complimented by the Rabbitohs overall majestic performance: they had the most metres run by far and had the majority of possession for the entire game.
The game was not without several penalties, one which included Sonny Bill Williams and his big shoulder charges, which could see him miss some time on the field.
The Newsroom’s Kimberley Braddish and Daniel Grantham were there to check out the game and chat with some of the players including Inglis. They asked the fans the all important question: Sam Burgess or Sonny Bill Williams?
