Jarryd Hayne’s San Francisco 49ers were beaten 47-7 by the Arizona Cardinals at Phoenix Stadium this past Monday.
The host thrashed the 49ers by despite Hayne producing his greatest moment in NFL so far when he hit the accelerator and returned a punt return for 37 yards. Cardinal’s Carson Palmer was pivotal in the demolition of the 49ers.
It was 31-7 at half-time. The 49ers went down, not scoring in the second half, thanks to the Cardinals’ solid defence. The 49ers have now lost two out of three matches of the season and will look to make amends when they take on the Green Bay Packers, who are yet to lose a game, next weekend.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, suffered a knee injury in their 12-6 win over the St Louis Rams. Roethlisberger is expected to be sitting on the sidelines for four to six weeks.
The Denver Broncos, led by quarterback Peyton Manning, defeated the Detroit Lions 24-12.
The Atlanta Falcons are being labelled as an offensive juggernaut after they defeated the Dallas Cowboys in a high-scoring thriller of 39-28.
Tom Brady was the star performer for the defending champions, the New England Patriots when they recorded their biggest win of the year, defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 51-17.
