Channel 10 presenter’s emergency surgery
The Living Room’s Barry Du Bois was taken to hospital after a TV stunt went wrong. The Television personality attempted to put on a pair of pants without using his hands, during an episode that will air on Channel 10 tonight. Dr Chris Brown provided assistance after Mr Bois tore his hamstring.
Ray Hadley moving to Saturday morning
2GB’s morning show has been extended to Saturday, as of tomorrow. Host Ray Hadley will now work six days a week – on the back of busy rugby league season that saw him juggle radio and TV commentary. This is the first time a commercial radio station will broadcast a news-focused show on a Saturday morning.
P-Plater collides with School bus
A 17-year-old female driver has been taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition after colliding with a school bus in Sydney’s North West. The 35 school children on board the bus at the time were unharmed. The 67-year-old male bus driver was not injured. He was taken to hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Christian Brother bail revoked
Desmond Eric Richards, a Christian Brother has had his bail revoked, after pleading guilty to indecently assaulting boys aged between 11 and 13. New evidence showed Mr Richards was incredibly violent towards his victims. It was determined that, although the man’s health and age should be considered, a jail term was appropriate.
The Rolling Stones cancel Victorian show
The Rolling Stones have cancelled their scheduled On Fire concert at Hanging Rock tomorrow night, due to frontman Mick Jagger suffering from a throat infection. Jagger’s show-stopping illness was announced in a statement from the promoter, Frontier. The event spokesman explained that Jagger’s doctor has given him strict instructions to rest his vocal chords in order to recuperate fully.
