Australian fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile will miss the tri-series against Zimbabwe and South Africa because of a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old Western Australian had surgery on his left hamstring, after injuring it while playing in the Indian Premier league for Delhi Daredevils. He has taken 11 wickets in his seven one-day international career so far.
Coulter-Nile was part of the squad who recently finished a two-week fitness training camp, but was not allowed to bowl. Team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said that he did not want to take any risk with Coulter-Nile’s injury and will wait until he is fully recovered.
“We will take our time with Nathan’s recovery to ensure he is fully fit for the big summer of cricket ahead,” he told Cricket Australia.
Coulter-Nile is the second player to be ruled out from the current squad, as David Warner is out due to the birth of his first child.
The series will start August 26 in Harare, Zimbabwe. – Md Zahin
