Wow! That pretty much sums up how some Sydney women saw the 2013 Sydney Writers’ Festival’s speed mentoring event.
WOW – Women of the World – is a global movement designed to empower and inspire woman to succeed in their chosen field. Speed mentoring sessions are organised in cities around the world for women can share their experiences and the challenges they face.
Experts offer to mentor other women who may be at the start of a career or stuck in a rut and needing a change.
The former Queensland Premier Anna Bligh hosted this year’s event at the Sydney Writers’ Festival.
Participants were given four 15-minute, one-on-one mentoring sessions. Newsroom reporters Zachary Pittas and Natalija Antic spoke with some of them afterwards.
