A man scaling Trump Tower using giant suction cups has been apprehended by New York police after a two hour ascent. The crowd began to document the stunt on social media at four PM local time, dubbing the unnamed climber ‘Spiderman.’ NYPD initially had no intention of pulling the man in, hoping he would tire before reaching the top, and two airbags were set up on the ground below to catch him.

Police broke windows, raised a ladder and cut through a vent in failed attempts to talk the climber down but had to resort to pulling the man into the building at 6:20 pm after he reached the 21st floor. He has been taken to Bellevue Hospital for evaluation.

French teenager charged over terror app and plot

Parisian authorities have arrested and charged a 16-year-old girl for supporting ISIL and attempting to commit an attack. The girl, whose identity has not been released yet, was allegedly using a social media app to circulate calls by ISIL for others to perpetrate violent acts in the name of the extremist group.

Investigators are looking into other members of the chat group, for anybody acting as an accomplice.

Attacks in Turkey kill eight civilians

Kurdish PKK rebels have attacked police vehicles in two separate bomb attacks in the south-east of Turkey. The first attack in the town of Kiziltepe killed three and injured 25, and the second in Diyarbakir killed five and injured 12 civilians. Explosives were detonated by remote control near a hospital in Kiziltepe.

Violence in south-east Turkey has escalated since the Turkish military and the PKK resumed fighting after a ceasefire last year. Turkey is also fighting the Islamic State in a battle that has left many civilians dead.

Duke of Westminster inherits nine billion pounds

Hugh Grosvenor, 25, has inherited the family fortune after the unexpected death of his father this week. Forbes magazine has estimated that Mr Grosvenor, the seventh Duke of Westminster, is now the 68th richest person in the world and the third richest landowner in the England.
