Police have arrested a man in connection with the stabbing murder of a 16-year-old Gold Coast boy on Saturday night.
Michael Brack’s adoring friends today remembered the Gold Coast schoolboy as “cheeky” and as a young man who “lived life to the fullest”.
The Benowa High student was described as a selfless and compassionate friend who always looked out for his mates, and packed more life into his years than most.

Kyle Findley said Michael was the “most generous, caring guy you’ll meet”.
When Kyle cut his hand last week, “He immediately came to me and took off his under shirt and wrapped my hand.”
Kyle told The Newsroom: “[He was] always so happy and cared about everyone.”
Michael was described as an “adrenaline junkie” who never failed to embrace every moment. A budding photographer, he was a trailblazer in his own right.
“He was always the leader of our squad and always knew how to cheer us all up just with his cheeky smile and bubbly self,” Brogan Rickard, a close friend, told The Newsroom.
“Michael made such a positive impact on my life and I know he made a positive impact on many others lives too. [We] went on so many adventures and made so many memories that I will cherish forever.
“He will be forever missed and will always have a place in my heart,” she said.
Medo Pasagic, 17, spoke fondly of his “brother’s” cheeky little smile…
“He was a very good boy to his friends and had a huge heart. We had something no one else did.”
Michael’s tragic death has clearly devastated his friends. Mr Pasagic told The Newsroom it had made him realise that life is the number one priority.
“I hope my brother’s death shows the world that parties and drugs and money doesn’t mean anything cause in the end life is so much more important. Nothing will ever bring my brother back… Rest in peace brother,” he said.
A 23-year-old, Ryan Howes, appeared in Southport Magistrates Court yesterday charged with Michael’s murder. He was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on January 12.
Police found Howes hiding in the roof cavity of a renovation home in Bundall. He allegedly had fled the scene after Michael was stabbed. – Olivia Grace-Curran
