The Melbourne Storm will take on the North Queensland Cowboys for a spot in the grand final at AAMI Park on Saturday night.
The Cowboys have not made a grand final in 10 years, losing to the West Tigers in 2005; Melbourne will be looking to make their sixth grand final in 10 years.
The two clubs played just three weeks ago in drizzly conditions at AAMI Park, where the Storm came away with a 14-6 win and dominated possession.
Cowboy’s skipper Jonathan Thurston will be looking to back up last week’s performance posting 39 unanswered points in their qualifying final against the Sharks. The return of five-eighth Michael Morgan will be a massive boost in attack for the Queenslanders, while powerhouse forwards Matt Scott and James Tamou will keep the Storm defenders busy in the middle.
The Storm will be fresh and recovered after enjoying a week off from their opening final victory over the Roosters. Melbourne’s leading try scorer Marika Koroibete will return from an achilles injury, along with Jordan McLean and Tim Glasby from respective knee injuries. – Sam Pasfield.
