St Andrews Cathedral School was placed in lockdown early this afternoon after threats were made over social media.
Police would not confirm if the threats were related to terrorism, but the Anglican school next to Town Hall in the Sydney CBD is the third to be targeted by online threats this week.
Accountant Ayesa Woods, 25, who works nearby told The Newsroom the “younger kids were being evacuated from the side-door” and “police were in the square”.
Ms Woods said she found it strange that surrounding buildings were not evacuated.
On Tuesday, Sir Joseph Banks High School in Revesby and East Hills Boys school in Panania were locked down because of similar threats.
The St Andrews children went home at the usual time of 3.15pm, and school is expected to operate as usual tomorrow.
