A new online dating site has launched in Australia, targeting professionals in uniform jobs.
UniformDating.com successfully launched in the UK eight years ago, with up to 40,000 people signing up each month.
The Australian site launched just a few weeks ago and has caught the attention of many hopefuls.
Brand Manager at Uniform Dating, Amy Coles, told The Newsroom, “Uniformdating.com began with us recognising the need for a bespoke and personalised online dating site for uniformed professionals. The appeal for uniformed professionals and the need for a service that can help them find love is not only appealing to a UK audience, it’s very much a service that works in Australia.”
She believes the demanding work lives of uniformed professionals can make dating difficult.
“Uniformed professionals work long and unpredictable hours, which makes planning dates difficult. In fact, our research found a quarter of our uniform wearing respondents have seen a relationship end because of long working hours,” Ms Coles said.
The site is not only for uniformed professionals however, people living the non-uniformed lifestyle are still free to sign up.
“Uniformdating.com aims to connect men and women in uniform with the people who love them. This might be uniformed professionals who want to meet someone who has the same ‘uniformed’ lifestyle, or it might be helping people who love a man or woman in uniform connect with someone who meets their needs”.
Ms Coles hopes that the site is just as successful in Australia as it has been in the UK.
“It’s early days in Australia, but we hope to see strong growth as the word gets out there. Our research found 82 per cent of Aussies would consider entering into a relationship with a man or woman in uniform so there is plenty of interest in the service!” – Payal Rishisen
