Cronulla Sharks fullback Michael Gordon has signed a one-year deal with Parramatta Eels.
After allegedly being denied a mid-season transfer to Parramatta before the cut-off, Gordon will wear the blue and gold in 2016.
“Michael is an experienced player and a quality fullback who will bring talent and the expertise to our backline, and he deserves the opportunity to be playing in an NRL side,” Parramatta coach Brad Arthur announced.
The fullback signed with Cronulla in 2013, moving from Penrith when he did not get a start in his preferred position, however he has struggled to get a spot in the starting line up this year with Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan picking young gun Valentine Holmes or 2015 recruit Ben Barba instead.
“Not only is he talented on the field but he will be valuable for the emerging young players in our squad,” Brad Arthur said.
