The NSW High School Certificate starts tomorrow with more than 75,000 Year 12 students sitting their first exam, English.
Many schools have taken to social media to wish their students’ luck and remind them to look after themselves at what is a traditionally stressful time. Students have also posted their own pictures, memes, and messages.
2015 HSC student Shane Muscat, from Saint John Paul II Catholic College in Quakers Hill, told The Newsroom exam stress was to be expected but students needed to remind themselves that they can only do their best.
“I ensured I was well prepared and I studied very hard. I took plenty of breaks when I felt unproductive so that when I came back to studying I had more energy,” Shane said.
Another 2015 graduate, Hamish Lamond, from Bede Polding College in Windsor, advised this year’s students: “Don’t stress, it stuffs you up big time. If I forgot something, I just kept going. A test isn’t decided by a single question. It comes down to how you study, not how much you study.”
The HSC starts tomorrow, October 13 with English Standard, English Advanced and ESL at 10.20am. The exam period runs until Friday, November 4 with Design and Technology at 12.55pm. – The Newsroom Team.

3 horrible things in life.
1. Seeing your mom cry.
2. Seeing the love of your life fall in love with somebody else.
