Police appealing for information about the assault of a skateboard rider in Sydney late last year have released a still image from CCTV of their suspect.
The CCTV images of Oxford Street near Liverpool Street, Darlinghurst, show the suspect started a conversation with the 21-year-old victim early on Friday, December 7, before grabbing the victim’s skateboard and hitting him with it.
The victim was knocked unconscious and fell to the ground as the attacker fled with the skateboard. The victim was treated for serious head injuries at St Vincent’s Hospital.
His attacker, who wore a light blue long-sleeve shirt and light-coloured pants, was last seen leaving the area by taxi. He is about 193cm tall with a solid build and a shaved head and is described as being of Islander/Maori appearance. – Sarah Lawther
