The Sydney Roosters will take on the Brisbane Broncos for a grand final spot this Friday night at Suncorp Stadium.
Both games between the two sides this season have been decided by four points or less. In round six, a Ben Hunt try in extra time gave the Broncos a 22-18 win, while in Round 24, the Roosters overcame the loss of Mitchell Pearce and Jarred Waerea-Hargreaves in the opening minutes to claim a 12-10 victory.
The Roosters had a dominant win over the Bulldogs last weekend and will look to carry their momentum, and move into the grand final. Halfback Mitchell Pearce will return to the side after missing the last five weeks with a hamstring injury. His inclusion will see Jackson Hastings play a utility role off the bench.
The Broncos have enjoyed a week of rest after beating the Cowboys in their opening final match and have named an unchanged side for this weekend’s clash. Retiring Bronco Justin Hodges will look to go out as a winner in his last outing at Suncorp Stadium. – Jesse Mullens.
