The Station’s Arnold Partier speaks to The Newsroom about the homeless shelter’s operations.
The Station, a safe haven for homeless people, gave The Newsroom exclusive access to its facilities in Erskine Street, Sydney, this week.
This haven for Sydney’s neediest people has been operational for more than three decades. In that time it has helped more than 30,000 people. The shelter also provides services such as mental health support and emergency relief.
In NSW alone, at last count, 28,190 people were homeless. Shelters like The Station aim to decrease this number and provide aid to those who need it. This is a face of Sydney too few of us are aware of.
