Nominations for the 2013 ARIAs announced at the NSW Art Gallery.
Sydney dance producer, Flume has dominated this year’s awards with eight nominations for his self-titled debut album.
Former Australian Idol winner, Guy Sebastian scored five nominations including the most prestigious award, album of the year and best male artist.
The other nominees for album of the year are Birds Of Tokyo, Flume, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Tame Impala. X Factor winners, Samantha Jade, Timomatic and Justice Crew are all up for best video and song of the year.
The best female artist category features well-known singers such as Jessica Mauboy, Missy Higgins and Sarah Blasko. Veteran children’s group, The Wiggles are nominated in the category for best children’s album.
Music industry heavyweights Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, P!nk and teen music sensation, One Direction are all competing for the best international artist category.
Broadcasting on Channel Nine’s digital channel Go! on December 1, the ARIAs will be held at the Star Event Centre in Sydney. – Kim Ravia
